going for SEP is like putting a major full-stop to your life
which is great news actually
i mean whats not good about it
putting everything on hold in Singapore
and then you'll fly somewhere to do whatever you want
without having to consider the consequences at all

more than that, its like a period of emotional growth.
sort out your thoughts
think through ur goals
so that when time is up
you'll be ready to kick some ass

the time is coming soon, and i cant wait.

so... most if not all of the snow have melted due to the high temperature - 0 degrees.. apparantly thats not enough to keep the snow.. and it rained the wholeeee entire dayy.. could have been snow if the temperature was low enough.. owells. but in such a rainy sucky weather.. we finally got to catch a McGill match today.like FINALLY. we missed the american football. missed the rugby.. but we sure aint gonna miss Canada's national sport - ICE HOCKEY!

Last match of the Varsity Season.

McGill V.S Ottawa

Cool hockers in action

it is really a game with no rules.. push and push and hit and hit.. super rough

in national games, players usually end up fighting.. so much so that the fight has become one of the reasons why people chiong to watch the nationals.. too bad such fights dont happen for Varsity games..sigh sigh sigh.. no luck of seeing handsome hockers fight each other..

camwhoring in between quaters..

McGill's tradition, tubing contest in between quaters.. haha!

all the Singaporeans who were there..

and it was 3-3 at the last quater. 5 minutes extended death match.. and McGill bloody SCORED!
ooh-whoooo~~ having lost so many years, we finally WON!!!

:):):) super duper happy

looks like we didnt show up in red hoodies for nothing.
HOORAYS for some awesommeeee loyalty to McGill!

YOU GO REDMEN! :):):)

i cant believe we won.

Went to check out this supposedly VERY famous smoked meat and steakhouse at Boulevard St Laurent today with the gang and it turns out to be yeah not too bad.i mean even angelina jolie ate there, how bad can it be right?? maybe the smoked meat makes you more fertile ahha.. okay LAME.. anyways..because the only smoked meat ive ever eaten in my life was at Reuben's, so i cant really judge the quality since there isnt much comparison, but overall.. i would say well its pretty good food.. and the nostalgic feel of the cafe gives you a kind of warm cosy feeling..oh what can i say? im immersing myself in "the Montreal tradition since 1928". haha..

entrance looks pretty orbiang.. but it smells super good when i stepped in and its super crowded.. lucky we didnt have to line up in the cold.. haha

Schwartz - Original World famous Smoked Meat and SteakHouse

as featured in numerous newspapers and magazines.. framed and put all over the cafe, almost looks like its the wallpaper..

we decided to order an assorted plate to share and self wrap it.. but as you can see.mine is like 1/10 the height of theirs.. i have no idea how they stuff SO many pieces of smoked meat inside the bread.. oh anyway.. these meat were marinated in spices for 10 days.. can u imagine?? poor meat.. haha~ and worst off, i dont even know what meat it is. and was too lazy to ask.. my french seeriously cannot make it.

welll then we left the cafe satisfied.. and were chit chatting laughing happily while walking to the metro when SUDDENLY..

SUDDENLY..

that magical moment appeared once again..

it bloody snowed! this time, its like SNOW SNOW, flaky SNOW, not rain snow ...not flurries.. its bloody SNOW! omg.. its SO bloody magical i almost thought we were seeing things..

so we decided to head to the cafe to do what montrealians do in winter - HOT CHOC!

outside Second Cup

and like how we have always looked forward to it, we made snow angels!!! okay lah although its not very deep snow and not very sucessful, its my first attempt.. so enjoy~~~!

smiling for the moment we've all been waiting for

112408 -
marks the official day Montreal see real snow and
probably for the rest of the days and weeks to come,

FALL is finally o v e r.

P.S. I hope it snows all night long :)

an event that happened some time ago..

yesss, one of SEP students' many roles includes being a NUS embassador, so we "actively" signed up to volunteer at the NUS booth for McGill's study abroad fair! surprisingly not as grand as NUS's one but oweells, SEP experience could not be more complete without this..

NUS administrators, amily, me, steph and mingwei :)
the administrators were paid to come to canada to do this lah.. and they flew off to Vancouver the next day to spread NUS's reputation man, cool job!

we are oh-so-getting into the act of acting these days

official poster of event

us with free complimentary McGill cap for being volunteers!
I sssssoooo CANNOT wear one.

i finally finished my last midterm which lasted 2 whole months.. one more paper to write before finals kicks in on dec4~ and then its christmas, countdown and home sweet home :)

time flies.

and so we made every tuesday a movie night since three weeks ago, yess.. we took so long to start hanging out at movie theatres, partly due to the chilly weather, we could only escape indoors. and since every tuesday is $4.95 night, tuesdays it is!
SO, heres some movies we caught and oh-man, movies are getting worse these days..

zw incredibly fell dead asleep for this

sadly, this is worse of all 5 they have (in my opinion)

... seriously.. its bad

and on days where we need to save money, or refuse to head out in the cold, we pop some popcorn ourselves, make ourselves comfortable on cyrus's bed.. and we complete our 2nd favourite activity (the 1st being bridge) on cyrus's lappy - watch downloaded moviess and drammass :)

i did not mention we usually ended up not sleeping for the night.
sigh.. stayovers..

some movies which we completed so far..

totally never heard of this before, but it turned out to be quite funny

i swear this is the most disgusting movie i have ever seen in my entire life, ENTIRE.. its basically just about a bunch of idiotic guys doing idiotic stuffs like putting a fish hook thru a guy's mouth and then letting the guy out into the sea to lure the sharks, and then wheeling him back with the bloody hook in the mouth.. OR literally branding a penis mark on someone's butt... OR letting a snake bite onto someone's penis.. OR attempting to catch 2 anaconda among colorful balls (evident in poster) ETC. OMG. the list goes on and on and on.. ewww

oh.. i love this. pretty funny and ann hathaway rocks lahh

THIS sucks. worse than 1. i mean partially sucked cause halfway the subbing became spanish.. so we ended up having to watch a chinese version one. imagine madasgar characters speaking chinese.. errrr. u get it lahh.

and some other day last week, we met up with nicolas picard, our buddy from McGill and he brought us out for all-you-can-eat sushi buffet which turned out to be extremely ex btw, and then, we went to a sheesha bar which turned out to be pretty cool. I know singapore has this but we're too suaku to be true. haha.. sucks though i couldnt try it cause i was down with heavy flu and we had to share one mouth piece which was impossible, so i merely watched the fun. sigh..

attempting to make circles together

group pic

then we went ahead to join the Mcgill International Students Society at some karoke bar downtown, cool shit.

we ordered the 4 litre pint that costs a mere 17 canadian, freaking cheapp

our own nicolas up on stage, turns out he sucked big time.
hilarious though..

i wonder if singapore has such bars, it definitely makes drinking a whole lot more exciting..

houssiess

the whole bar literally feels like a club, flooded by hundreds of McGill international students..ahah!

i dont like to study about things that i dont like to study about, history of psychology is freaking boring, SUPER boring.its 4 am now, n i barely started. test in 3 hours time. bombed. dead. and and and im getting super frustrated with the weather. its freaking sub-zero everyday and its still not snowing. its freaking snowing everywhere else and everybody else can do outdoor skating except montreal. this is so unfair! why is it so cold and not snowing?! this is so not normal for montreal (according to the locals).. i mean where is the snow!? its freaking -7 now.. omg omg omg omg omg omg..

ok im done ranting. ignore me.

for the benefit of my sister who refuse to have facebook, heres pictures of the recent me, where i decided to be artsy fartsy and caught a film during Cinemania - Montreal's French Film Festival :) as evident, im slowing transforming into a dumpling wrapped fully in preparation for the cold weather. adding to that, im accumulating more fats reluctantly, looks like im gaining back whatever ive lost in USA.and im pretty sure it'll get worse considering how much im eating and how much im not moving.we shall see.

e
oooh whooo

credits credits credits

posing after everyones gone after the film
VIP seats ehh~

imperial theatre

im getting too many shocks in my life that i cant handle right now. on a happier note, i think i might have found myself one new clique after last night's heart to heart chat. might. hopefully.
